 Mental Health and Therapy Services

About Us

At my practice, I am committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-informed services that honour each person’s unique journey. Grounded in trauma-informed, person-centred principles, my work prioritizes safety, empowerment, and respect for individual lived experiences.

I understand that childhood trauma, mental health, and mental illness, along with addiction, are complex and sometimes interconnected.

I recognize Indigenous Peoples have experienced historical and ongoing impacts of colonization, including systemic barriers that contribute to housing insecurity, poverty, and health inequities. As part of my commitment to reconciliation and culturally safe practices, I am dedicated to providing services that respect and honour Indigenous knowledge, values, and healing practices. I strive to create a welcoming environment where Indigenous clients feel respected, heard, and empowered. This includes collaborating with Indigenous communities and organizations, incorporating culturally appropriate supports, and ensuring our programs reflect the unique strengths and needs of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

My approach integrates therapeutic modalities such as CBT and DBT (trauma-focused DBT), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), psychosocial-dynamic therapies, motivational Interviewing, exposure therapies, and strengths-based interventions to foster recovery, resilience, and self-determination.

Recognizing the importance of interprofessional collaboration and the impact of family and community systems, I engage supportive networks to build holistic, sustainable plans of care.

I believe individualized therapy plans are essential across the lifespan, ensuring that each person receives tailored supports aligned with their values, goals, and needs.

I am here to walk alongside you with empathy, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to your well-being.

Individualized therapy plans are important for all ages because they tailor support to each person’s unique needs, strengths, and goals, making treatment more effective and respectful of individual differences. Individual plans from a trauma-informed, person-centered approach focus on safety, choice, and empowerment. I recognize the impact of trauma and prioritize the client’s voice, tailoring supports to their unique experiences, needs, and pace of healing.

Hi, I'm Kate Hovey

I believe that growth and change are powerful parts of living a fulfilling life. Sometimes, change begins with a simple feeling that something isn’t quite right, that your sense of well-being is off, or that there’s something within you that needs attention or healing. Therapy offers a safe space to explore those feelings, understand yourself more deeply, and reconnect with the world around you. It’s a journey toward rediscovering who you are, while also finding peace and belonging.
